We take great pride in doing whatever we can to preserve the history of our township. Meet the individuals that make it all happen.

Lisa Siegel

President

     Current MTHS president, Lisa Knapp Seigel was born and raised in Montgomery Township. As the daughter of the late C. Howard “Bud” Knapp, Jr, she spent countless hours at the Knapp Farm. Her insights and first-person descriptions are invaluable to our understanding of family history and life at Knapp Farm.
      Formerly a product manager with CSL Behring, and prior to that, a special education teacher, Lisa lives in Lower Gwynedd Township with her husband, Brian. She has three grown children and three grandchildren. Lisa has been an MTHS board member since 2010 and President since 2015.

Evan Wells

Vice President

Evan Wells grew up in Downingtown, PA before moving to North Wales in 2012. He works in the marketing technology software industry as a Solutions Engineer. His passion for history was instilled by his parents who have restored multiple 19th-century homes on the Eastern Shore of Maryland.

Ginny Bailey

Secretary

     Ginny has lived in Montgomery Township since she was 2 years old. She attended Montgomery Elementary School when it was in the building near 5 Points. Ginny’s father was former Police Chief Bruce Bailey. For years, Ginny was the smiling face at the desk of the township’s Community & Rec. Center and was on the Township’s 300th   Anniversary Committee. She has been a board member since 2017.

Patricia Moyer Graham

Treasurer

     Trish, who was born and raised in Montgomery Township, is the granddaughter of the late C. Howard “Bud” Knapp, Jr. Trish enjoyed the unique experience of growing up next door to him and other family members when Knapp Farm was a vibrant, workingfarm. Trish now lives in Hilltown with her husband, Jay, and works in finance for Penn Engineering. She enjoys traveling and researching local history and family genealogy. 

Deborah Cummins

Board Member

     Deb moved to Montgomery Township in 1988, just one year after our society was founded. She joined MTHS in 1991, and was first elected to the board in 1995; she held the position of secretary for more than a decade. Deb is an experienced travel agent with a deep interest in American history. In 2003, she earned a certificate in Historic Preservation from Bucks County Community College. Debbie and her husband, Dick, have three grown children and four grandchildren.

Susan Gordon

Board Member

     Sue was a founding member of MTHS, and has served in a variety of leadership positions including President, VP, and program chairman. She has designed and edited the MTHS newsletter since 2004, and is also the current chair of the Collections Committee.
     Sue is a writer, former teacher, and the retired Director of Community Relations and Marketing for Doylestown Hospital.She and her husband, Bob, have lived in Montgomery Township for 50 years and have two grown children.

Andrea Duffy

Board Member

Andrea’s name is familiar to many area residents because she has served as the District Judge for Montgomery Township (and part of Hatfield Township) since 2012. Andrea has resided in the township since 2008;
she enjoys local history and was elected to the MTHS Board in 2021.

Marilyn Tontoni

Board Member

Marilyn and her husband, Michael, moved to Montgomery Township in 1990. Marilyn enjoys exploring the abundant history of the greater Philadelphia area and also delving into her family roots in New England. Marilyn was appointed to the Board in 2023, and chairs the Program Committee.

Joan Hurd

Member

Long time township resident, Joan, lives in one of the oldest historic homes in the township. She taught school for many years before returning from the North Penn School District. Joan has been a board member for almost two decades, including a multiple year term as Treasurer.

Jesse Hurd

Member

Jesse has been an active MTHS board member for almost 3 decades. He enjoys township history, researching deeds and his sharing his extensive knowledge of construction and building maintenance (especially of 18th century houses like his) with the group.
